xiaomi redmi 5a and we chat wallet

today i bought the cheapest indonesian-made chinese phone xiaomi redmi 5a. the price is very cheap on promo, only IDR 999 K. normally it's around 1,2M - 1,4M IDR
but the spec is different from oversea version, this only has 2gb ram and 16gb internal memory.
i won't use it for audio, video, and visual. this phone will simply for chatting, online taxi, and shopping voucher.
actually kind of regret having this because i do not really need it, since my plan A is failed.

plan A ?
yes, this is about setting up my we chat account. this social application is very famous in china and recently i really need to become vip member of tencent qq. it is just today i realized we, overseas we chat users, cannot use we chat wallet because currently it requires linked to chinese bank account. which means, even if there is a chinese bank in your country and you open up an account, the account cannot be used for we chat, because the china bank is located in your country, not china.

if i knew this earlier, i don't have to buy this new phone, because my old phone still works very well, it's just running out some spaces.

back to setting up we chat wallet and how to earn balance into it, the answer is only two., for this time being:
first, you gotta have a friend or someone who has china bank account in china let you linked his/her account number to your we chat. but who would do such charity on you? lol. and because, unless you are expatriate or overseas students, you cannot open bank account overseas.
second, using third party service to help you verify your wallet and then top up your balance, but this is quite risky since you gotta share your we chat data to the third party. however this should be no problem is your phone and we chat data/contacts has no secrets/fear to be shared to. but still, who knows.

so, we have asked qq tencent about international users who eagerly want to become their vips, but the answer is, they do not have that plan to allow it currently.
what a savage. lol.

some people said, some banks and countries who have joint cooperation with tencent could easily linked their credit cards, but i didn't really find this could help us since this info is still blur.

some service said they could wire money into your wechat wallet, but they need you to verify your account first, which means is, to verify we chat account for using financial service is to have china bank account linked. lol, the problem is on the verification process for money transfer, which indeed the hardest part.

so how ?
dear god i need to become vip member ...
but it's not that important.
i mean, i've tried, and it's just a matter of the tencent policy and whether you want to use third party or not. so, it doesn't matter. not a big deal about life and death.
